"Why don't you go for a walk?"
If I'm lacing up my shoes, I might as well throw on a rucksack. And if there's room, I might as well add a tent...
What started as a casual idea for a self-supported overnight trip quickly spiralled into a 100+ mile, multi-day adventure packed with boats, lighthouses, monuments, cliffs, landslips, tunnels, and - wait for it - a Poo Museum!
Intrigued about making this trip as wallet-friendly as possible, I set out to see just how far I could go on a shoestring budget.
Join me as I kick things off with a marathon walk from my front door to the Isle of Wight Ferry, and then trudge along roads, paths, trails, mud, crumbling cliffs, duvers and countless esplanades. Over three days, I tackle the entire Isle of Wight Coastal Path, soaking in the charm and oddities of this chalky island.
It’s a story of wanderlust, the quirks of solo adventuring, and the sheer joy of exploring - one step at a time.
