The races, the books
I've run three of Climb South West's races (they're Ultra Trail Events now), some of them more than once, and written a book about each go: the good bits, the bad bits and the bits I'd rather forget. Every race has its map and stats here too, so you can see exactly where it went right, and where it didn't.
North Coast 110
The wildest, hilliest bit of the north coast, in one go. I finished it in 2022, and it beat me in 2024.
Running it this year? Read these first. Or maybe after.

Jurassic Extinction
Old Harry Rocks to Orcombe Point, 185 million years of coastline. When I ran it in 2023, the Jurassic Extinction was 120 miles, with a loop round Portland, and there was a shorter 105-mile race too. I skipped Portland and finished the 105. I entered the 120 again in 2024, but with too few runners and Portland’s paths falling into the sea, it was dropped to 105 miles before the start. It beat me anyway.

Devon Coast to Coast
Unfinished business: it stopped me in April 2026, and I’m going back in April 2027. The book will cover both.

More races and long walks, not all of them Climb South West's.
