    Rempstone

This is the race HQ at Rempstone.

The weather was fair, certainly an interesting sky, and the ground was dry and solid which bode well for race day.

    Hardy Monument

My little phone camera wasn't up to much in the dark, but you can just about make out the bulk of the Hardy Monument at the start location of the race up on Black Down.

This picture is from about 30 minutes before we started.

A better shot of the Hardy Monument, lit up by head torches.

    Hardy Monument

That monument is quite tall! Lots more facts and figured in the book.

Excuse the splattering of Hardy Monument photos - the one that I got of the start arch was too blurry to even consider artistic, and there wasn't anything else to take a picture of up here.

  5. Photo at Bincombe

    Bincombe

Look at that sunrise! The weather for the day was pretty grey, but the sunrise was special. This was right around Bincombe.

Just over to the right is the spot where all the Viking bodies were found. Spooky stuff!

Up the top of the first big hill, on the plateau heading out towards White Nothe, which is the lumpy headland you can see in the distance.

    Durdle Door

Yet another photo of Durdle Door! I've passed this location so many times, and seem to have to take a photo every time. It is a beautiful place though, especially when it's not full of tourists.

Old Harry Rocks from the top. A bit less punchy than the view from below.

    Emmetts Hill

    Emmets Hill. Those steps.

This is a view from about two thirds of the way up the climb. You can see the line of the descent on the other side, and I'd stopped to have a little breather and get this photo back the way I'd just come.
